Instruction
We support research and teaching at WSU and welcome classes to learn in our Reference & reading room.
We can help teach students about primary sources such as manuscripts, historical photographs, rare books, and printed ephemera. We provide opportunities for discovery and original research.
Examples of classes taught in MASC
- DTC 101: Introduction to Digital Technology & Culture – Multiple sections come to our Reference & Research Room to look at a sampling of collections. We introduce students to archives & primary source materials, and talk about perspectives & archival silences.
- DTC 201: Tools and Methods for Digital Technology – Students examine primary source materials related to text, type & design.
- ENGL 483: Chaucer and Medieval Literature – Students get a firsthand look at incunables & rare medieval literature books.
- HIST 300: Writing about History – Current students research WSU students who died in World War II as a part of the Fallen Cougars Project
We’ve worked with many other classes over the years, including synchronous Zoom sessions and recording sessions to use in your class.
