The Inland Northwest Council of Libraries (InCOL) Spring Workshop, set from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, April 14, on the Pullman campus, will feature two presentations by Trevor Dawes, associate university librarian at Washington University in St. Louis.

Dawes will present on leadership plan development, and systems thinking and decision-making that will lead to more effective operations within library organizations. The sessions will be held in the PACCAR Building Auditorium, 2001 E. Grimes Way.

WSU agricultural sciences librarian and InCOL chairwoman Lara Cummings said the workshops are geared toward people at any point in their library career. It’s also the first year that the annual conference will be held in Pullman.

“This has been a long road on the way to getting a workshop here,” Cummings said. “We are attempting to be more inclusive towards all the populations of InCOL.”

Dawes has been active in staff development and training for public services, has written on various library services topics, and has either planned or presented at local, national and international conferences. He is an active member of the American Library Association and a past president of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Registration for the InCOL Spring Workshop is due Thursday, April 7. Contact Whitworth University librarian Tami Robinson, trobinson@whitworth.edu, to register for one or both presentations.
