New faculty meet-and-greet on Oct. 3

Faculty newly hired to Washington State University can meet the librarians who serve the reference, library instruction and research needs of each academic department at an Oct. 3 reception. The meet-and-greet is planned from 3-4:30 p.m. at the WSU Libraries’ Manuscripts, Archives and Special Collections exhibit room, just off of the Terrell Library ground-floor atrium.

The nearly 20 liaison librarians cover the gamut of WSU academic disciplines, from astronomy to microbiology. They purchase library materials, both print and electronic, as well as subscriptions to those materials as needed; provide news and updates on library services, events, resources and policies; represent faculty concerns and interests at the libraries; offer course-based online library guides to identify class resources; present library instruction sessions; hold virtual “office hours” to answer research questions; assist with incorporating information literacy skills into the curriculum; and more.

To RSVP for the reception, please contact humanities librarian Gabriella Reznowski, 509-335-5596, reznowski@wsu.edu. To learn more about liaison librarians assigned to your department, visit the WSU Liaison Librarian Program website.
