Technical Services
Technical Services works to select, acquire, organize, process, and provide access to information resources. Our goal is quality customer service as we carry out our responsibilities to:
- Search, order, receive, claim, and pay for all library materials
- Monitor fund expenditures and track statistics
- Provide descriptions and access information for all library material in Search It, the WSU discovery interface
- Prepare materials to be shelved in the libraries’ collections
- Process documents received as part of the US Federal and Washington State library Depository Programs
- Record receipt of print periodical and newspapers, provide links to electronic resources and process library materials to be bound
- Acquire and manage serial publications in all formats and all electronic resources
- Process serials in all formats including print, electronic, and microform: check-in, claiming, binding, linking, access, and troubleshooting
