October 16 – Copyright in the Academic World, 12:10-12:30pm – Online
Led by Sam Lohmann, Reference Librarian
Copyright law matters to many aspects of academic work, from classroom teaching and readings to presentation and publication. The law can be complicated, but you don’t need to be intimidated. In this workshop we will learn and practice basic, practical skills to avoid legal hassles, such as performing a fair use assessment, identifying public domain and Creative Commons-licensed materials, and reading licenses to determine what types of copying and sharing are permitted.
