WordPress for Personal Portfolio Websites workshop with Kristin Becker
DTC faculty Kristin Becker will host our third workshop in the CDSC Spring Series Friday, February 19th from 9:00am — 12pm in the CDSC (Holland Libraries, 4th Floor).
Interested in revising your CV or portfolio in ways that facilitate a more interactive and dynamic experience? The “Wordpress for Personal Portfolio Websites” workshop will help you choose and customize a wordpress template for use as a personal portfolio website. This workshop is for faculty, staff, and students with little to no experience with the WordPress platform. Participants will discuss basic graphic design concepts relevant to web design, using a few sample sites as guides, and then use these concepts to search for and choose wordpress templates based on the needs of individual participants. The final portion of the workshop will cover how to edit and customize a chosen template using the WordPress interface. Participants should bring image or text-based files that are representative of the content they wish to feature on a portfolio site, such as artwork, essays, articles, and bio/resume/CV on either a thumb drive or laptop.
There will be time to work on individual sites during the workshop.
